Timothy believes in solving problems for the benefit of humankind and that the most interesting problems are solved with scaled solutions by the global developer community. He has over two decades of experience working at the intersection of engineering and storytelling to help developers be more effective. He is passionate about Open Source, Developer Ecosystem, and the search for the ideal developer journey.
Timothy spent nearly 16 years at Google building and growing Developer Relations teams for products such as Flutter, Firebase, Angular, Dart, TensorFlow, Maps, Apps (Workspace), Search, and Material. He also led the Open Source and Developer Ecosystem teams while establishing DevRel best practices across the company. He recently completed a sprint as VP of Developer Experience at Vercel. While there, he established an AI-driven, AI-targeted DevRel practice, led the company-wide Agent Led Growth (ALG) strategy. He is currently on sabbatical while keeping an eye out for his next long-term leadership role.
Timothy has taught broadcasting, theater, engineering, and new media at the University of California at Santa Cruz, the Academy of Art University, and the Digital Media Academy. He has a B.S. in Computer Engineering, a Theater Arts graduate degree, and an M.F.A. in Digital Arts and New Media from U.C. Santa Cruz.
